iPhone


The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that use Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The first-generation iPhone was announced by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. Since then, Apple has annually released new iPhone models and iOS updates. As of November 1, 2018, more than 2.2 billion iPhones had been sold.

The iPhone has a user interface built around a multi-touch screen. It connects to cellular networks or Wi-Fi, and can make calls, browse the web, take pictures, play music and send and receive emails and text messages. Since the iPhone's launch further features have been added, including larger screen sizes, shooting video, waterproofing, the ability to install third-party mobile apps through an app store, and many accessibility features. Up to 2017, iPhones used a layout with a single button on the front panel that returns the user to the home screen. Since 2017, more expensive iPhone models have switched to a nearly bezel-less front screen design with app switching activated by gesture recognition.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini (stylized and marketed as iPhone 12 mini) are a range of smartphones designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. They are the fourteenth-generation, lower-priced iPhones, succeeding the iPhone 11. They were unveiled at a virtually held Apple Special Event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California on October 13, 2020, alongside the higher-end iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max flagships. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 started on October 16, 2020, and the phone became available in most countries on October 23, 2020. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Mini began on November 6, 2020, and the phone became available on November 13, 2020.[3]

iPad

The iPad 10.2-inch[2] (officially iPad (8th generation)[3]) is a tablet computer developed and marketed by Apple Inc. as the successor to the 7th-generation iPad. It was announced on September 15, 2020 and released on September 18, 2020.[4]

The iPad Air (4th generation), informally referred to as iPad Air 4, is a tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced by Apple on September 15, 2020. Pre-orders began on October 16, 2020, and shipping began a week later on October 23, 2020. The device closely resembles the design of the 11-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) and has several features that were previously exclusive to the iPad Pro line, such as support for Magic Keyboard and the second-generation Apple Pencil. It is available in five colors: Space Gray, Silver, Rose Gold, Green, and Sky Blue.

Recipe - Vagherela bhaat (spicy curd rice)

I've been cooking food since a couple of years now, ranging from a full Indian menu to a simple one-off filling dish. This is my first attempt at noting down a recipe on a blog! This is a 20 min simple recipe , for spicy curd rice, or Vagherela bhaat as we call it in Gujarati. Ingredients (serves 2): 1 cup basmati rice 2 tbsp sunflower / vegetable oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tomato 1 finger chilli 4 tbsp plain / greek yoghurt 1 tsp chilli powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder Pinch of asafoetida powder Salt to taste Freshly chopped coriander (to garnish) Recipe: 1. Take one cup of rice, add three cups of water and cook it on medium flame. 2. Cook it until it looks like this: 3. Take 2 tbsp vegetable / sunflower oil, 1tsp mustard seeds and put it on low flame; let the mustard seeds splutter. 4. Movie review - Spiderman - Homecoming

Marvel has come out with yet another awesome movie, now with my second most favorite (a close second to IronMan) in the Marvel multi-verse - Spiderman. It was a very fresh and modern reboot of Spiderman, with a brilliant performance by Tom Holland! It is aptly named, "homecoming", and they couldn't have welcomed back the super hero in the Avengers space in a better way! I will give the movie a solid 8.5 / 10 . It was an entertaining movie throughout, and I found myself rooting for the 15-year-old Spiderman the entire time! The movie hit all the correct notes for me (more details below). Spoiler alert: If you haven't watched the movie, and care about spoilers, stop reading now! +1 - No background story We all know how Spiderman came to be. We have seen it in two movies! What is it like to grow up in a typical Gujarati household?

(Cross posted on my Quora profile ) I have written this post from a general Gujarati household perspective. However, there is a huge bias towards how I was brought up. So, please don't generalize it to all Gujjus. And comments are welcome! :) Food Breakfast or school tiffin includes  thepla, khakhra, fafda-jalebi, poha  and  upma . My mom would rarely give me something which is not homemade (bread, etc). Lunch has a typical north Indian meal but has its own unique taste and texture. Thin  rotis,  sweet  daal , a couple of vegetable curries, curd / buttermilk, and a  farsan  (Gujarati snack, generally fried).  Farsan  can include  patra, dhokla, bhajiya, gota , etc. Evening snacks can have either of the  farsan . Dinner is usually light, and depends on the household.
